Experienced Fencers at VAF
Intermediate and Advanced Levels
Students who progress through VAF's introductory and preparatory levels are considered intermediate/experienced fencers and are eligible to become members of VAF. Membership opens up new avenues for learning such as participation in master clinics and workshops, coach supervised free fencing sessions and VAF training competitions. Members often arrange a time with each other to come practice; free fencing/bouting is encouraged when VAF is open for regular classes and training.
Experienced fencers who move into the area may have taken a fencing course elsewhere or are returning to fencing after a long hiatus (i.e.: fenced in college or high school) or may be avidly competing on the national or international circuit. It is best to contact the office at (703) 321-4922 to determine where a student should be placed depending on what training is desired.
