Bringing Fencing to Your School!

The VAF Schools Program

Our course is designed to give students an introduction to the world of fencing. They will learn footwork, handwork, strategy, rules and terminology. By the end of the class they will be able to fence and referee matches (called "bouts") with each other. Protective masks, jackets and safety tipped swords are used, and make fencing one of the safest activities. It is a fun, physical workout as well as an educational experience. It can also be tailored to meet your needs for flexibility regarding grade level requirements, course length, and duration.

There is absolutely no cost to the school. Each participant will pay a fee for the course. We will provide all of the marketing materials to advertise the class. Even more, for the opportunity to conduct this class we can provide a free demonstration for your entire school.

We provide:
  • Professionally Trained Coaching Staff
  • All Necessary Equipment
  • Advertising (flyers - see attached samples)
  • Insurance ($2,000,000)
  • Flexible space requirements
  • Payment collection (if desired)
  • A choice of both Olympic Sport and Historical Swordsmanship programs
